God's Amazing Grace and Love Towards Me - 1-15

1.  Does God really love a sinner such as me?

  • Psalm 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
  • Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
  • John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
  • 1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Father in Heaven, Yes, it's true. You have always loved me, a sinner. You declare it in Your Word, and You cannot lie. As unworthy as I am, You have shown Your incredible love by sending Jesus to this world to die for me. With immense gratitude I accept Your love. I am eager to learn more about You, and I never want to doubt Your love again. Thank You, dear God, for loving me!

2.  Can I be assured of God's mercy and deep love for me?

  • Psalm 146:8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:
  • Hosea 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
  • Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
  • 1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
  • 1 John 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

My Precious Lord, Your love for me is full of mercy and tenderness. You have reached down to rescue me in my spiritual blindness and backsliding. Your depth of love for me is unfathomable and beyond comprehension. What a treasure is the truth of Your love for me. Let me guard it and value it above all else, so that Your love will enfold me and fill me up with an unquenchable, holy joy.

3.  Does God really care about me?

  • Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
  • Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
  • Isaiah 49:16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
  • Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
  • 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Precious Father, how precious I am to You! With YOU as my shepherd, how could I want for anything? You lead me and provide for all my needs. You invite me to cast all my cares on You, promising me that You will bear them for me. My name is engraved on Your hand. Your devotion to me is overwhelming. Teach me, Lord, to grasp Your promises, and truly give my burdens to You. May I rejoice in Your loving care, so that my heart will sing Your praises all day long.

4.  Is the Lord my Shepherd?

  • John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
  • John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
  • Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
  • 1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
  • 1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Good Shepherd, my Shepherd, You are leading and guiding me, and calling me to follow. I want to hear Your voice, and be submissive to Your leadership. I no longer want to be among the lost sheep, I no longer want to stray. Thank You, Jesus, for rescuing me, and holding me close. I am helpless without You. Some day soon, You will appear, and give me a crown of glory that will last forever! Thank You, Jesus!

5.  Did Jesus die for my sins?

  • Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
  • Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
  • Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
  • Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation .
  • 1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Oh, my Father, when I realize that my sins shed Jesus' blood and crushed out His life, I am ashamed of my waywardness and thankful for the marvelous gift of redemption. Jesus paid the ultimate price and it was MY sins that crucified Him. I have nothing of myself to exalt in. Let my purpose be to lift up the cross of Christ, so all may see the intense beauty of Your sacrifice.

6.  What has Jesus done for me personally?

  • Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
  • John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
  • John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
  • Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
  • 2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Dear Lord, help me to understand the magnitude of Your sacrifice. Let me behold You, Jesus, and appreciate Your loving mission. You had everything, but took nothing, that I might have Your riches. Help me, Lord, to receive Your salvation, that I may have life and have it more abundantly. Thank You, Jesus, for Your cleansing blood that covers me. May the name of Jesus resonate through my entire life, and declare You as my personal LORD and Savior!

7.  Did Jesus sacrifice Himself completely for me?

  • Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
  • Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
  • Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
  • 1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time
  • Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

My Father, how amazing it is to realize that Jesus gave Himself completely and entirely for every living soul. I'm so unworthy of such a supreme sacrifice. Father, I pray it isn't wasted on me. Jesus, You gave Your life to save mine, and even gave me the free will to choose that life or death! Your love wants to redeem me from all impurity. I pray that You will make me willing to accept Jesus' sacrifice and be truly delivered.

8.  Did Jesus really suffer greatly because of my sins?

  • Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
  • Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
  • Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
  • 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
  • 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

My Precious Jesus, Your torment and death was what I deserved. I'm the one who caused You such pain. Your punishment was beyond comprehension, the physical suffering and the mental aguish is too much for me to bear. You deserved none of it- it was my pain You bore. The cruel bloody beatings and insensitive mocking now provide healing for my sin-sick soul. Your agonizing sacrifice ripped the veil between me and my Heavenly Father. Indeed I am eternally grateful. Let me never forget how You suffered for me. Let that awareness keep me close to You always. I love You, Jesus!

9.  Is God's powerful saving grace offered to me?

  • Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
  • 2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
  • Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
  • James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
  • 1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you .

Dearest God of all grace, You have called me, and Your grace has appeared. This is a holy calling, lifting me up and away from my sins. I am responding to Your invitation and coming boldly and yet humbly before Your throne of grace. I have done and can do nothing to earn grace, it is only because of Your great love that Your grace found me, pulling me up when I had no ability to rescue myself. What incredible power is in Your grace, Your truly amazing grace!

10.  What will God's grace do for me?

  • Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
  • Ephesians 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.
  • 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things , may abound to every good work:
  • 2 Thessalonians 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
  • 2 Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Dear Lord, My name is cleared! By Your grace I have been justified. I have no guilt before You. Grace did that! Grace allows You to accept me, as beloved in Christ. And there's more besides. You are pouring Your grace into me abundantly, so that I can have the spiritual energy to do the things that please You. Grace empowers me and encourages me. Please keep pouring Your grace into me, Lord, I need it so much!

11.  Is it because of God's free gift of grace that I am able to be saved eternally?

  • Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
  • Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
  • Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
  • Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
  • Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Dear God, Thank You for the wonderful gift of salvation. Teach me to look to You with unwavering faith. Though I am weak and unworthy, Jesus, I shall keep my spiritual eyes on You. Hallelujah! I rejoice in Your salvation!

12.  Has God chosen all, and predestined all to be saved?

  • Ephesians 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
  • Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
  • 1 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
  • 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
  • 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Dear Heavenly Father, I know that You have chosen me for Your holy purpose and pre-destined me to be saved, as You want all to be saved and come to repentance. But You will never force Your will on anyone. Prepare my heart to accept Your choice for me, and let Your truth permeate my mind, so that I am in agreement with Your will.

13.  Can salvation be obtained any other way than through Jesus?

  • Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
  • John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
  • Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  • Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
  • Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Thank You Lord Jesus, for opening the way to the Father. Truly, You are the only way to salvation. You are the author of my salvation. You are continually interceding for me. I praise You, Jesus, for Your marvelous salvation.

14.  Does God really want me, and is He calling me?

  • Matthew 11:28, 29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
  • Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
  • John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
  • John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
  • 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Jesus, my Lord, You came for salvation! I hear Your voice calling me to rest! All the stress of earth melts away as I focus on You. You promised You will never leave me or cast me away. With every breath, You draw me closer to Your side, and I want to cling to You forever. I am humbled by Your love.

15.  What is God's invitation to me?

  • Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
  • Isaiah 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
  • Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
  • John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
  • Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Lord, I am thirsty. Let me drink deeply of Your ways while I can. For where there is life, there is salvation. My chance is now, and it may not be here tomorrow. Rain on me, Father, Rain on me!
