Our Creator and His Creation - 176-180
176. How does the Bible declare that our world came into existence?
- Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
- Psalm 33:6 By the Word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
- Psalm 33:9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
- Isaiah 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
- Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
Our Creator God, Your Word clearly declares You to be the Creator. The Words of Your mouth contain creative power. No one or nothing else can take credit for Your creation. How foolish of humanity to disbelieve Your Word, and try to invent theories regarding our beginnings. They don't want to believe Your Word because then they would realize that You deserve worship, and their evil hearts are bent on rebellion. Lord, I acknowledge You as my Creator.
177. What three specific things has God created that makes Him worthy of our worship?
- Psalm 146:6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is : which keepeth truth for ever:
- Isaiah 37:16 O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
- Acts 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
- Acts 14:15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
- Revelation 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
Dear Lord, You are Creator of the Heavens, the earth and the sea, and everything in them. That is all encompassing. Without Your creative power, nothing we see would exist, including ourselves. This fact alone sets You above all, as worthy of our worship and adoration. Lord, let me continually acknowledge Your exalted position, and my obvious extreme subordination to You in every conceivable area. Keeping that in prospective will restore me to enjoy a closer and more intimate relationship with You as I recognize Your deep love for me.
178. What holy day is closely connected with act of creation, declared to be holy by the Creator of the heaven, the earth and the sea?
- Genesis 2:1, 2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
- Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
- Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is , and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
- Nehemiah 9:6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
- Nehemiah 9:14 And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:
Our Blessed Creator, Your Word declares that You ended Your creative masterpiece after six days and rested on the seventh. You set aside the Sabbath as holy, because it was a special day of rest. This day is a memorial of Your creative power, given to us so that we can remember that You are the Creator, and we are the created. What a blessed weekly reminder You have provided of Your loving creation. Teach me, Lord, to understand the Sabbath rest in a deeper way.
179. Who is called to worship God, as the Creator of heaven, earth and sea?
- Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
- Revelation 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
- Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
- Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
- Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Dear Lord our Maker, Your Word calls us to come and worship before You as our Creator. Lord, this awareness of our relationship to You as creatures is the foundation of all true worship. Your Word declares this is the center of the gospel message, because this alone qualifies You to be our Redeemer. This will be our worship anthem through the endless ages of eternity. How the enemy has tried to obliterate this truth from our minds! If he can get all humanity to disregard or deny their creature status, he can lead them to exalt self and deny You. Teach me, Lord to reverence and glorify You as my Creator every day, and most especially on the seventh day, that You set aside for this very purpose.
180. How long will God's creatures continue to worship God as the Creator?
- Psalm 86:9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
- Isaiah 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
- Isaiah 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
- Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
- Revelation 15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
Lord God Almighty, Great and marvelous are thy works, just and true are thy ways, O king of saints! Throughout eternity this will be our praise. Every cognitive being in the universe will one day worship You alone as our Creator and Redeemer. Every Sabbath day through eternity will bring a fresh reminder, a blessed opportunity to bring You the glory and honor that is due. Oh Lord, may I be part of that rapturous choir that comes before You each Sabbath day to sing Your praise!
